Episode four splatters paint and blood all over Jesus’ nativity scene in Chris Peckover’s Better Watch Out (formerly Safe Neighborhood). In the film, a twelve-year-old (Luke, played by Levi Miller) and his crush babysitter Ashley (Olivia DeJonge) must ward off an unknown home invader. As their holiday nightmare unfolds, events aren’t as they appear. You’ll get your Home Alone trap setting and defensive standoffs, but Zack Kahn’s screenplay holds more wrapped surprises than generic break-in beats. You needn’t wait long to find out, either.
Better Watch Out has the boys reacting in a way that certainly won’t repeat often. No reason to spoil, right?
