Silent Night, Deadly Podcast: Ep3 – SANTA’S SLAY (2005)

You asked for it, Tiny Tim asked for it, the Ghost of Marley asked for it, and now Dread Central is proud to present the year-round Christmas horror podcast you’ve long been waiting for…Silent Night, Deadly Podcast! Chris, Kieran, Matt and Rob – collectively known as “The Jingle Boys” – are prepared to take you on one demented journey through a winter wonderland of the best and worst tinsel terror the big (and small) screen has to offer.

Episode three sees those Jingle Boys challenge one another to throw down with David Steiman’s Santa’s Slay. Anyone familiar with this holiday slugfest already knows it stars WCW/WWE superstar Bill Goldberg in one of his most prolific acting roles. Yes, I said “prolific.” We here at Silent Night, Deadly Podcast take our Christmas horror seriously. What’s your counterargument – supporting turns in The Longest Yard or Universal Soldier: The Return? Ho-Ho-HELL NO!

It should come as no shock that all the Jingle Boys don’t unanimously love Santa’s Slay. Three jolly souls dare argue Steiman’s sole feature credit is a “Christmas Horror Classic,” while one Fun Meiser tries to dampen their holiday party. No movie is for everyone, so tune in this week to find out whose side you’re on. The fun-loving trio who are irrefutably correct about how gloriously batty and bananas this punch-em-up horror comedy is, or the stinky cheese man who stands alone (bonus points if you can guess who wrote this week’s entry copy).

Oh, and while you’re at it, check out Matt’s Drinking With The Dread from last month for Santa’s Slay! Every Jingle Boy can agree this movie deserves curated drink-along rules for an interactive – and excellent – boozy midnight watch.
