Masters Writers Let the Bat out of Hell
Finally, someone’s taken the classic epic Meatloaf album from 1976 and written a screenplay around it! I’ve been waiting since I was a wee lad for someone to see the innate horror properties of Bat out of Hell and translate it to film…
That’s not actually what Bat out of Hell, a horror project Variety reports that American Pie producer Warren Zide will be sheparding through a new financing deal with Parallel Media, is about, but a guy can hope, right? STYD learned the Bat actually concerns a red-eye flight from LA to NYC with something lurking in he cargo hold that has some of the passengers freaked out.
The flick was written by Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan, best known to horror fans as the writers of the John Carpenter-helmed Masters of Horror episodes “Pro Life” and “Cigarette Burns”. Apparently Carpenter is eyeing this one as well.
Zide just finished work on Adam Gierasch’s directorial debut Autopsy and has Final Destination 4 in production as we speak.
Theorize what the film is about in the Dread Central forums!
