Can We Survive the Blitzkrieg?
With all these directors out there trying to be both cutting edge and old school, how many do you think would have the balls to actually make a new Nazi-sploitation film? Only one director comes to mind, and it ain’t Rob Zombie; it’s Keith Crocker, he of Bloody Ape fame.
Crocker is back at it with the new Nazi horror film Blitzkrieg: Escape From Stalag 69, a film that set out to recapture the sleazy glory days of 70’s cinema and, by the looks of the trailer, did a damn fine job of it. Some official plot, if you will:
During the final days of World War II, Helmut Schultz and his cohorts in Nazi crime terrorize the prisoners with biochemical weapons experiments and shoot-on-sight torture for entertainment. After a captured showgirl, the voluptuous Southern belle Candice, escapes her captors and hides out in the women’s camp, other ragamuffin defenders bolster up their wits to overthrow on the Nazi demons, even if it means leaving the camp on a slab … while Russian POW Natasha takes on soldier after soldier using only her body and her wits as she tackles the brown and black shirts all on her naked own.
Wild Eye Releasing is putting the film in theaters across the country, though not in any big way; rather they’re doing an arthouse run to see if there really is a place still for a film about torture, gore and half-naked girls defeating the Nazis.
