God of Vampires Honored!
During this past weekend’s Rock and Shock convention here in Massachusetts, the long-delayed God of Vampires (review) finally got a chance to play in front of fans who have been waiting for the movie to be done for 5 years now. The screening went very well, with more and more people coming in as the film progressed, and everyone was in agreement that director Rob Fitz did a great job given the limited budget and legion of issues he had to deal with over the long, drawn out production. On the other side of the country, where likely no one had heard of God of Vampires before, they apparently feel the same way.
Fitz told us the good news that God of Vampires just won the Directors Choice Award at Shockerfest in Modesto, CA, which got $2500 worth of film stock into the directors hands to aid him in his next project. You’d be amazed how motivating having good film stock can be!
Though Fitz hasn’t settled on what he’ll be doing next, he did give us a line on a few projects he has in the works, which we’ll be checking on regularly. Be sure to check out the God of Vampires site here and MySpace page here to learn more about this very ambitious slice of indie gold!
