Undead Labs has released its ambitious new title State of Decay for Xbox Live Arcade and PC. The game sold 250,000 copies in the first two days of its release on Xbox Live and is still going! Read on to learn more about the zombie adventure that awaits you in State of Decay.
The director of community for State of Decay, Sanya Weathers, stated, “State of Decay has smashed all kinds of records. The only game that ever sold more on XBLA this fast was Minecraft – an already hugely popular game. There just aren’t the words to describe the feeling.”
First Impressions
State of Decay is a pleasant surprise from Undead Labs and offers up one hell of a zombie survival simulation. The XBLA title plays like a veteran title that you would expect from the developers of the Resident Evil series, and it is quickly evident that Undead Labs knew what they were doing.
State of Decay shows off the anxiety, fear and doubt that would come with a real zombie apocalypse. One minute you are enjoying a nice relaxing day on your boat, and the next you are surrounded by cannibalistic psychopaths who want to rip you apart. This really puts a lot of things into perspective and survival quickly becomes your new best friend. The main concepts of the game are to scavenge supplies, avoid getting torn apart and simply survive. Players will find that elements of many genres have been mashed together here for an overall killer experience full of story- defining decisions, engrossing gameplay and pure terror.

About State of Decay
The end is here. Life as you knew it has gone to hell after the mother of all zombie outbreaks. Now you and the few scattered survivors must band together to survive and rebuild in a 3rd-person action game set in a dynamic open world.
