‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Comes to Amazon in October, New Teaser Dropped

James Wan serves as producer on this slick update of the 1997 teen slasher classic.

I Know What You Did Last Summer is set to hit TV screens on October 15, 2021. Now, the James Wan-produced slasher series has an official teaser trailer.

The premise of I Know What You Did Last Summer puts a contemporary spin on the 1997 original. In the show, several small-town teens are hunted by a mysterious killer a year following a fatal accident on their graduation night.

In this glossy new footage, we get a taste of the group’s post-grad partying and a glimpse of some of the murders. We’re also teased with an ominous text sent to the group: “I’m Coming 4U 🤡.”

Four episodes of the show will be released on the premiere date, with new episodes to follow every Friday. The series finale will air on November 12, 2021.

Rounding out the cast are Madison Iseman (Annabelle Comes Home, Jumanji: The Next Level), Brianne Tju (Light as a Feather), Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), Sebastian Amoruso (Solve), Fiona Rene (Stumptown), Cassie Beck (Connecting), Brooke Bloom (Homecoming), Sonya Balmores (Inhumans), and Bill Heck (I’m Your Woman).

Craig Macneill (The BoyChannel Zero: Candle Cove, Lizzie, Castle Rock, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, NOS4A2) directed the series pilot.

Sara Goodman wrote the script and served as executive producer, alongside executive producers Shay Hatten, Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film, and James Wan, Rob Hackett and Michael Clear of Atomic Monster.

Written and executive produced by Sara Goodman, I Know What You Did Last Summer is based on Lois Duncan’s 1973 novel, which was also the basis of the iconic 1997 film. One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town—and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.
