Synopsis:
The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Johan Renck (Chernobyl) was set to direct The Last of Us. But he had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Russian filmmaker Kantemir Balagov took over. Craig Mazin, the creator of HBO’s killer limited series Chernobyl, is writing and executive producing with the game’s writer and creative director, Neil Druckmann.
