CHAINSAW MAN Anime Gets a Trailer and All I Can Say is, “WOOO!”

Manga chainsaw man

Coming at you from the halls of, “I didn’t know I wanted that, but now I very much want that” is the trailer for the anime adaptation of Chainsaw Man. Chainsaw Man is definitely gaining a devoted fan base from its well-received manga. It’s one of Japan’s best-selling stories. This year, it has finished its first story arc. What better way to celebrate than with an animated series?

SYNOPSIS:
Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil-dog Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man – CHAINSAW MAN!

What’s on display would make a gorehound blush. We see the eponymous Chainsaw Man, in all his gonzo glory – a chainsaw on his head and one on each arm. The trailer initially starts slow but then ramps up to an insane, bloody pitch. Studio Mappa, celebrating its 10th anniversary, was cool enough to drop the trailer.

The crew on this one is exceptional. If you’re an anime fan, get hype. You’ve got a score by Kensuke Ushio (Devilman Crybaby(, with Hiroshi Seko (Deca-Dence) is writing the script. Chainsaw man was first serialized in the magainzine Shonen Jump from 2018 to 2020, with Viz Media publishing the English translation.
