Corin Hardy’s The Nun saw actress Bonnie Aarons reprise her role as the titular character (aka Valak) from James Wan’s hit sequel, The Conjuring 2. And today, Aarons admits she can’t wait to make another movie as the demon nun.
Read her comments below.
Aarons tells Coming Soon: “I would love to jump back in that habit. I love that film and that character and that whole crew. I light a candle every day. But I have to see what they wrote, you know, I hope it explores more of the depth of the demon. I think the demon came from the bowels of hell. We’ll see whatever it is. It’s Warner Brothers, it’s going to be phenomenal. It’s New Line Cinema. Whatever they do is going to be phenomenal. They really know how to make a film over there.”
I don’t know about you but I’m for sure up for more of Bonnie Aarons’ creepy bullshit as The Nun. And speaking of The Conjuring 2 characters getting more movies, how’s about WB finally makes good on that The Crooked Man motion picture?
Directed by Corin Hardy (The Hallow) from a screenplay written by Gary Dauberman (Annabelle), The Nun begins when a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life. Now a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together, they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun.
The film sports a 24% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus: The Nun boasts strong performances, spooky atmospherics, and a couple decent set-pieces. But its sins include inconsistent logic and narrative slackness.
