13 Killer Horror Movies Coming to Amazon Prime in April

Amazon’s Prime Video will be unleashing a ton of new horror movies next month. And today we wanted to take a moment and highlight so of the best coming soon.

Motel Hell (April 1)

Vincent Smith (Rory Calhoun) and his sister Ida (Nancy Parsons) run a rural hotel. But they earn most of their cash operating a food stand that specializes in world-famous sausages. After years of success, however, the duo’s upstanding brother, Sheriff Bruce (Paul Linke), eventually discovers the grotesque details of his siblings’ booming business. Vincent and Ida are actually plumping up their hotel patrons, killing and dismembering them, and then grinding them into frankfurters.

Smiley Face Killers (April 1)

A handsome young soccer player believes he is going insane when he is unable to shake the feeling of being stalked by something, by someone.

Johnny Smith (Christopher Walken) awakens from a coma caused by a car accident. He finds that years have passed, and he now has psychic abilities. Heartbroken that his girlfriend has moved on with her life, Johnny also must contend with his unsettling powers, which allow him to see a person’s future with a mere touch. After shaking the hand of an aspiring politician (Martin Sheen), Johnny sees the danger presented by the candidate’s rise and resolves to kill him.

The Happening (April 1)

An apocalyptic threat to humanity arrives out of the clear blue sky with a series of violent, inexplicable deaths spreading across the country. The cause of the terrifying phenomenon remains unknown, prompting science teacher Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberg), his wife Alma (Zooey Deschanel) and his colleague Julian (John Alberto Leguizamo) to try to elude the invisible killer in Pennsylvania’s farmland.

Unhinged (April 2)

A single mother’s bad day gets worse when she beeps at a fellow driver during rush-hour traffic. After an exchange of words, she realizes the mysterious man is following her and her young son in his truck. The initial case of road rage quickly escalates into full-blown terror as she discovers the psychopath’s sinister plan for revenge.

Blair Witch (April 3)

A young man and his friends venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mystery surrounding his missing sister. Many believe her disappearance 17 years earlier is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first, the group is hopeful when two locals act as guides through the dark and winding woods. As the night wears on, a visit from a menacing presence soon makes them realize that the legend is all too real and more sinister than they could have ever imagined.

High Rise

High-Rise (April 7)

After his divorce, Dr. Robert Laing moves to high-rise building in which the residents are divided into classes. The rich live upstairs, the lower class downstairs. When it comes to tension and a murder, Robert is literally right in the middle.

Pulse (April 7)

After her boyfriend commits suicide, a psychology student (Kristen Bell) and her friends begin receiving unsettling e-mails and video messages. After a number of disappearances across campus, she teams up with a computer hacker (Ian Somerhalder) to shut down the deadly force before it spreads to the rest of the world.

Trollhunter (April 7)

While investigating reports of illegal poaching, three student filmmakers encounter a man (Otto Jespersen) who slays trolls for the Norwegian government.

Paranormal Activity 4 (April 12)

It has been five years since Katie (Katie Featherston) murdered her sister and disappeared with her infant nephew, Hunter, in tow. Now, a new family is about to fall prey to nighttime terrors. A mysterious accident next door leads to teenage Alex (Kathryn Newton) and her family becoming the temporary guardians of Robbie (Brady Allen), a very creepy neighbor boy. Cameras installed throughout Alex’s home capture the sinister events that unfold after Robbie’s arrival.

Spontaneous (April 12)

When students in their high school inexplicably start to explode, seniors Mara and Dylan struggle to survive in a world where each moment may be their last. As an unexpected romance blossoms between them, they soon discover that when tomorrow is no longer promised, they can finally start living for today.

Okay, this is a SHOW but still…

Them (April 9)

The new terror anthology series, Them, will premiere Friday, April 9, 2021, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. From breakout creator Little Marvin and executive producer Lena Waithe, Them is a limited anthology series that explores terror in America. The 1950s set first season centers on a Black family who moves from North Carolina to an all-white Los Angeles neighborhood during the period known as The Great Migration. The family’s idyllic home becomes ground zero where malevolent forces, next-door and otherworldly, threaten to taunt, ravage and destroy them.
