GODZILLA VS KONG Headed to Netflix or HBO Max!

Adam Wingard’s Godzilla Vs Kong sports a PG-13 rating for “intense sequences of creature violence/destruction and brief language.” And it will be unleashed in May 2021. Or will it… Tonight we just learned a streaming debut might be in the cards.

Netflix has made an offer of more than $200M. But WarnerMedia has blocked the deal and is prepping an offer for HBO Max.

Legendary declined to comment. But a Warner Bros. spokesperson said: “We plan to release Godzilla vs. Kong theatrically next year as scheduled.”

THR reports: “Decisions on the movie’s fate are being handled at the highest level, with WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar and Warner Bros. chairman Ann Sarnoff figuring out an offer for a streaming release on HBO Max that in theory also includes a theatrical component.”

We’ll keep you updated as we hear more. Stay tuned!
