GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE Moves to Summer 2021

Thank You for Smoking director Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife was set to hit back in July but was delayed until March 2021 due to COVID-19. And today, we hear Ghostbusters 3 is now set to arrive in theaters on June 11, 2021.

Fingers crossed.

In the meantime, Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II star Ernie Hudson promises that the new movie is worth waiting for and is what “fans have been hoping for.”

Hudson will return as Winston Zeddemore with Dan Aykroyd as Ray, Bill Murray as Peter, Sigourney Weaver as Dana, and Annie Potts as Janine. They’re joined by new castmembers Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, and Paul Rudd.

The new movie tells the tale of a single mother and her two children who notice something strange in their neighborhood of Summerville, Oklahoma, and team with a seismologist summer school teacher to investigate the paranormal happenings.

The last time we saw the (original) team on the big screen was in Ghostbusters II which began after the Ghostbusters are disbanded for demolishing parts of the city during a battle. Then Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) learns that spirits have taken an interest in Dana’s son, the men launch a rogue ghost-chasing mission.
