Blumhouse’s THE CRAFT: LEGACY Officially Rated PG-13

Blumhouse and director Zoe Lister-Jones’ The Craft: Legacy with Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Nicholas Galitzine, David Duchovny, and Michelle Monaghan hits on-demand platforms on October 28th. And today we got word that the MPAA has slapped the flick with an unsurprising PG-13 rating for:

“Thematic elements, crude and sexual content, language, and brief drug material.”

In Blumhouse’s continuation, an eclectic foursome of aspiring teenage witches get more than they bargained for as they lean into their newfound powers.

Written, directed, and executive produced by Zoe Lister-Jones, the reboot is produced by Jason Blum with Lucy Fisher and Douglas Wick (who also produced the original). Andrew Fleming (who directed and co-wrote the original), Lucas Wiesendanger, Daniel Bekerman, Beatriz Sequeira, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, and Natalia Anderson are executive producers.

Starring Fairuza Balk, Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True, the original film follows this synopsis: After transferring to a Los Angeles high school, Sarah finds that her telekinetic gift appeals to a group of three wannabe witches, who happen to be seeking a fourth member for their rituals. Like Sarah herself, they all have troubled backgrounds, which combined with their nascent powers lead to dangerous consequences. When a minor spell causes the girls to grow power-mad.
