Goosebumps and Fear Street author R.L. Stine’s The Babysitter series is headed to TV via Lookout Entertainment & Chernin Entertainment (Planet of the Apes, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children).
The Babysitter series follows Jenny Jeffers, a sixteen-year-old girl who is targeted by menacing phone calls while babysitting a young boy named Donny. In subsequent novels, Jenny continues to have strange and sinister phenomena happen to her while she is taking babysitting gigs, as she worries that her past is coming back to haunt her.
The Babysitter was published in 1989, The Babysitter II in July 1991, The Babysitter III in October 1993, and The Babysitter IV in June 1995.
