Dread’s Upcoming Horror Comedy UNCLE PECKERHEAD Wins Special Jury Mention at Calgary Underground Film Fest!

Last week, we were thrilled to announce that Dread had acquired distribution rights to a trio of killer horror flics (link below). Today brings word that one of them, Uncle Peckerhead, just won a Special Jury Mention at the Calgary Underground Film Festival (running now through June 28th).

Uncle Peckerhead deserves special recognition for its mix of character-driven comedy, gory horror, and terrific indie punk rock vibe. This is a movie that shows the filmmaker’s love and knowledge of both genre film as well as the music scene. Also, the catchy tunes from DUH will keep you humming long afterwards.”

Synopsis:
When punk-rock band DUH finds themselves on their first tour with a man-eating hillbilly for a roadie, the “gig life” is paved with nightmares and half-eaten bodies.

Uncle Peckerhead is written and directed by Matthew John Lawrence; the film stars David Bluvband, Adam R. Brown, and Ryan Conrath.
