One of the Worst Movies Ever, John Travolta’s BATTLEFIELD EARTH Hits Blu-ray 8/15

For some godforsaken reason, Mill Creek Entertainment will release Roger Christian’s take on L. Ron Hubbard’s Battlefield Earth with John Travolta, Barry Pepper, and Forest Whitaker on Blu-ray on September 15th.

No special features are listed but you can check out the cover art below … if you want. Here’s the trailer.

In the year 3000, there are no countries, no cities… Earth is a wasteland. And man is an endangered species. As the leader of the evil Psychlos, Terl and his race have taken over the world’s natural resources and disregarded everyone and everything else. It’s up to Jonnie “Goodboy” Tyler, a brave human, to battle and restore normalcy to the world.

The film sports a 03% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Ugly, campy, and poorly acted, Battlefield Earth is a stunningly misguided, aggressively bad sci-fi folly.
