Neil Gaiman Feels CORALINE Gets Bigger & More Important Every Year

Laika, the studio behind director Henry Selick’s Coraline gathered creator Neil Gaiman and actress Teri Hatcher for a look back on the making of the film.
And Gaiman says the film gets bigger and more important every year.
Gaiman tells EW: “Normally films come out, and they kind of fade away. Coraline just feels like it gets bigger and more important with every year that passes.”

While exploring her new home, a girl named Coraline (Dakota Fanning) discovers a secret door, behind which lies an alternate world that closely mirrors her own but, in many ways, is better. She rejoices in her discovery, until Other Mother (Teri Hatcher) and the rest of her parallel family try to keep her there forever. Coraline must use all her resources and bravery to make it back to her own family and life.
It sports a 90% over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: With its vivid stop-motion animation combined with Neil Gaiman’s imaginative story, Coraline is a film that’s both visually stunning and wondrously entertaining.
