Breaking: James Wan’s SALEM’S LOT Remake Snags Director

New Line’s adaptation of Stephen King’s novel Salem’s Lot has snagged Annabelle Comes Home director Gary Dauberman. Dauberman is also the project’s screenwriter. James Wan, Roy Lee and Mark Wolper are producing. Gauberman will act as an executive producer.

Dauberman said back in June:

“I’m very, very excited to be a part of that and tackle it. It hasn’t had the big screen treatment yet, which is how I felt about It. It’s so fun to play around with vampires and make something truly scary with vampires. I haven’t seen that in a long, long time, and I’m excited for people to see it.”

The book follows this synopsis: Ben Mears has returned to Jerusalem’s Lot in the hopes that living in an old mansion, long the subject of town lore, will help him cast out his own devils and provide inspiration for his new book. But when two young boys venture into the woods and only one comes out alive, Mears begins to realize that there may be something sinister at work and that his hometown is under siege by forces of darkness far beyond his control.
