Doctor Strange Orders You To Stay At Home In Poster Shared By Director Scott Derrickson

We all need to do our best to stay at home during these troubling times, and we should only go outside when we absolutely need to. And while many of you are probably starting to get fed up with being stuck at home all day, you need to remember that staying indoors and not going out is the best way to help fight the spread of COVID-19. Even superheroes agree that you need to stay at home, as Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson shared a poster on Twitter showing Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the main text on the image reading ‘I want you to stay home’. As well as being the Master of the Mystic Arts, Doctor Strange is also a qualified physician, so you’d better do as he says. And you don’t want to make him angry, because he has a cloak which can literally strangle people to death.
Scott Derrickson directed the 2016 Doctor Strange film, which starred Cumberbatch as the titular Marvel superhero, a role the actor would reprise in Thor: Ragnarok and both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. And while Derrickson will not return to direct Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we’re still glad he used his connection to the character to help spread awareness about the importance of staying home in such an amusing way. The poster he shared was originally created by an Instagram user called n.o.v.a, and it was clearly designed to invoke the famous Uncle Sam poster from 1917, which was used to encourage recruits to enlist in the armed forces during the First World War. But this time, Doctor Strange is telling you to stay indoors instead of asking you to enlist, although he still points at the viewer in the same way as Uncle Sam.
So, remember, stay home, don’t go outside unless absolutely necessary, stay at least two meters away from other people, and wear a face mask if you have one. These are doctor’s orders, and who are you to argue with someone who has both an M.D. and a PhD? If Doctor Strange tells you to stay at home, you absolutely need to stay at home.
