Stephen King: Coronavirus Pandemic Has Just Been Waiting to Happen…

As the coronavirus sweeps the world, many horror fans can’t help but see the parallels between the outbreak and Stephen King’s magnum opus The Stand.
And today King talked about the pandemic a bit more, telling Reliable Sources: “People are saying to me ‘we’re living in a Stephen King world,’ and all I can say is, boy, I wish we weren’t. This is just been waiting to happen…The fact that nobody really seemed prepared still mystifies me.”

Earlier this month King tweeted: “No, coronavirus is NOT like THE STAND. It’s not anywhere near as serious. It’s eminently survivable. Keep calm and take all reasonable precautions.”
Stephen King’s The Stand follows this synopsis:
