Chilean filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky is best-know for an incredible accomplishment and an equally astonishing defeat. He became an icon of international horror following the release of Santa Sangre in 1989; the film deftly mixes drama, fantasy, and genre tropes into a singular experience that’s still studied and celebrated to this date.
