Much like the original starring Fairuza Balk, Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True, this new take on The Craft centers on a young girl starting at a new school who befriends three other girls and quickly becomes the fourth member of their clique. She soon learns that she somehow brings great power to the quartet.

This, obviously, resembles the original’s plot rundown, which went like this:

After transferring to a Los Angeles high school, Sarah finds that her telekinetic gift appeals to a group of three wannabe witches, who happen to be seeking a fourth member for their rituals. Bonnie, Rochelle and Nancy, like Sarah herself, all have troubled backgrounds, which combined with their nascent powers lead to dangerous consequences. When a minor spell causes a fellow student to lose her hair, the girls grow power-mad.”

Zoe Lister-Jones (Band Aid) directs Blumhouse’s The Craft from a script she wrote along with Daniel Casey (9 Fast 9 Furious). Jason Blum is producing with Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher.
