Guy Pearce & Matilda Lutz Board Sci-Fi Thriller ZONE 414

First-time feature director Andrew Baird’s sci-fi movie Zone 414 is currently shooting in Belfast, Northern Ireland. And today Deadline reports that the film has snagged Guy Pearce (Prometheus, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark) and Matilda Lutz (Rings, Revenge)

The film is set in the near future where private investigator David Carmichael (Pearce) is hired by an obsessive business tycoon Marlon Veidt (Travis Fimmel) to find his rebellious daughter in a colony of humanoid robots – aka Zone 414. Teaming up with a highly advanced, self-aware A.I. (Lutz), David moves through the dangerous iron jungle, rapidly piecing together the mystery and uncovering a crime that questions the origins of Zone 414 and the City of Robots.

Guy Pearce can be seen next in The Dark director Justin P. Lange’s upcoming horror flick The Seventh Day. Pitched as Training Day meets The Exorcist, the film follows a renowned exorcist who teams up with a rookie priest for his first day of training. As they plunge deeper into hell on earth, the lines between good and evil blur, and their own demons emerge.

Meanwhile, Matilda Lutz is best known for director Coralie Fargeat’s blood-soaked and brutal rape-revenge thriller Revenge. It centered on a young woman who accompanies her older (and married) boyfriend on vacation, only to be unexpectedly joined by his male hunting buddies.
