Paul Feig Wants GHOSTBUSTERS Crossover Movie

Ghostbusters (2016) director Paul Feig tells /Film that he is hopeful his all-female team can come back in a crossover movie with Ghostbusters: Afterlife, saying:

What’s so great, in the comic book world, they’ve done a lot of crossover ones where there’s like an interdimensional rip and our team joins up with the original Ghostbusters. So the fact that that’s already been laid and made comic book canon, anything could happen so who knows.”

Ghostbusters (2016) centered on paranormal researcher Abby Yates and physicist Erin Gilbert who try to prove that ghosts exist in modern society. When strange apparitions appear in Manhattan, Gilbert and Yates turn to engineer Jillian Holtzmann for help. Also joining the team is Patty Tolan, a lifelong New Yorker who knows the city inside and out. Armed with proton packs and plenty of attitude, the four women prepare for an epic battle as more than 1,000 mischievous ghouls descend on Times Square.

It was directed by Paul Feig from a screenplay he co-wrote with Katie Dippold based on the original film written by Ivan Reitman, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis. Reitman produced with Amy Pascal and it starred Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. Sony released it on July 15, 2016.

Meanwhile, Ghostbusters: Afterlife focuses on a family who moves back home to a small town. While there, they begin to learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself. It is all set to hit a theater near you on July 10, 2020.
