Stephen King Wants To See The Muppets Do LORD OF THE FLIES

Christmas has now come and passed this year. And like many of the rest of you guys out there, I made sure to watch not only FX’s new adaptation of Charles Dicken’s classic ghost story A Christmas Carol but also my childhood favorite take The Muppet Christmas Carol.
And today we have word from IT and Pet Sematary author Stephen King over on Twitter that he would like to see The Muppets take on an adaptation of William Golding’s Lord of the Flies.
Obviously, King is joking here. Right?
But still, as a big fan of The Muppet Christmas Carol, I have to say seeing the team battle it out to the death on an isolated island sounds like good times to this fright flick fan.

Author William Golding’s book focuses on a group of military schoolboys who become marooned on a remote island after a plane crash. While initially cooperative, after the discovery of a “beast,” the boys split into two warring camps, one headed by the liberal-minded Ralph, the other by the militaristic Jack. Their society begins to descend into violence, and boys soon learn there’s a thin line between society and savagery.
The last time Lord of the Flies was adapted for the screen was in director Harry Hook’s 1990 version starring Balthazar Getty, Chris Furrh, Danuel Pipoly, James Badge Dale, and Andrew and Edward Taft. Columbia Pictures released it back on March 16, 1990.
