FRIDAY THE 13TH Legal Battles Will Probably End By June 2020

As we all know far too well by this point in time, original Friday the 13th director and original Friday the 13th screenwriter Victor Miller have been in a ridiculous legal battle regarding own actually owns the franchise for what feels like years now.
But today we’re hearing from good old Shelly Finkelstein aka Friday the 13th Part 3-D actor turned entertainment lawyer Larry Lerner that Cunningham and Miller’s endless back and forth may (gasp!) finally reach an end in June 2020.

Now join with me fellow Friday the 13th fans in a rousing rebel yell of “Thank the f*cking God, God, God, almighty!” I mean, sure, this still means we have *checks watch* YEARS before any news Friday the 13th content hits screens, but at least it’s a start, or you know, and end.

Meanwhile, the last time we saw the series on the big screen was way the hell back in 2009 with the release of director Marcus Nispel’s Platinum Dunes remake starring Derek Mears as Jason.
Friday the 13th (2009) centered on Jared Padalecki who, against the advice of locals and police, scours the eerie woods surrounding Crystal Lake for his missing sister. But the rotting cabins of an abandoned summer camp are not the only things he finds. Hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees lies in wait for a chance to use his razor-sharp machete on Clay and the group of college students who have come to the forest to party.
