Dolph Lundgren Returns as THE PUNISHER in New Photoshoot

For those who might not know, before Tom Jane, Ray Stevenson, or even Jon Bernthal, Dolph Lundgren played Frank Castle aka The Punisher in director Mark Goldblatt’s 1989 action flick.

Lundgren was recently a guest on The Launchpad Podcast and the powers that be behind the scenes organized a photoshoot in which Lundgren put on a Punisher T-shirt and recreated The Amazing Spider-Man cover that introduced the character – as well as a splash page from the Punisher MAX series!

Dolph Lundgren’s The Punisher began with Frank Castle as a respected police officer dedicated to eradicating the Mafia’s influence — that is until the mob responds with a lethal car bomb that decimates Castle’s family.
Now, filled with rage and presumed dead from the horrific explosion, Castle takes to the city’s underground sewer tunnels to bring his own brutal brand of vigilante justice to the streets and wreak vengeance on those who killed his family.
Mark Goldblatt directed Dolph Lundgren in The Punisher from a screenplay written by Boaz Yakin based on the Marvel character created by Gerry Conway, Ross Andru, and John Romita Sr. Robert Mark Kamen produced the film which co-starred Louis Gossett Jr.
New World Pictures released the film back on April 25, 1991.
