Jordana Brewster Joins Jeffrey Dean Morgan In Sam Raimi’s SHRINE

Producer Sam Raimi and writer-director Evan Spiliotopoulos’s adaptation of James Herbert’s 1983 horror novel Shrine is all set to star Jeffrey Dean Morgan and begin production in February.

And today we’re hearing from Deadline that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and Fast & Furious star Jordana Brewster is set to lead opposite Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The Screen Gems feature is about a disgraced journalist who discovers a series of seemingly divine miracles in a small New England town and uses them to resurrect his career, but it turns out these ‘miracles’ may have a much darker source.

On top of writing and directing, Spiliotopoulos produces along with Raimi and Rob Tapert (The Evil Dead, 30 Days of Night).

Brewster can be seen next in writer-director Jay Baruchel’s adaptation of Justin Gray’s slasher Random Acts of Violence co-starring Jesse Williams, Niamh Wilson, and Baruchel.

That film centers on Williams and Baruchel who have made their careers crafting a comic book based on a real-life serial killer called Slasherman. On a press tour to announce the launch of their final issue, they visit the town where Slasherman wreaked havoc twenty years earlier. Upon their arrival, a series of new murders unfold… murders that look eerily familiar to imagery in Todd’s Slasherman comics. Speculation and paranoia build regarding the identity of the mysterious killer.
