Jordan Peele and Universal Ink 5-Year First-Look Deal
With two feature films under his belt and one Academy Award to show for it, Jordan Peele has been riding a wave since the massive success of his 2017 debut, Get Out; expect his follow up, Us, to appear on many Best Horror Movies of 2019 lists.
So it’s no surprise that Universal was eager to sign Peele to a 5-year, first-look deal. Variety broke the news:
The Oscar-winning creative behind Monkeypaw Productions has signed an exclusive new production pact with Universal Pictures, an increasingly rare deal that will see all of his movies released at the studio for the next five years.
Peele is currently producing a “spiritual sequel” to Candyman, a film that just wrapped production in Chicago.
