Guillermo del Toro Got His Star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame Yesterday! Check Out the Video

When we talk about masters of 21st Century horror, Guillermo del Toro is at the top of the list. He’s stunned and enchanted us with films like The Devil’s Backbone and Pan’s Labyrinth while producing impressive creepers like The Orphanage and Mama. Now, just days away from the release of Scary Storys to Tell in the Dark, del Toro has been honored with a star on Hollywood’s iconic Walk of Fame.
Lana Del Rey (who covers “Season of the Witch” for Scary Stories) and J.J. Abrams officiated and presented del Toro with his award. The ceremony was live-streamed yesterday, but you can check out a video of the beaming filmmaker at the top of the article. Synopsis:
It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is directed by André Øvredal; the film stars Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Abrams, Dean Norris, Gil Bellows, Lorraine Toussaint, Austin Zajur, and Natalie Ganzhorn.
Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is based on the book series by Alvin Schwartz.
