Anatomy of a Scene: How Ari Aster Succeeded at Bringing a Bad Trip to the Big Screen in MIDSOMMAR

Ari Aster’s follow-up to Hereditary, Midsommar, starts with a gut punch, but things don’t really begin to spiral out of control until the lead protagonist, Dani (played by Florence Pugh) has a bad trip after being passive-aggressively pressured into taking psychedelic mushrooms.

Synopsis:
