Trailer: BANANA SPLITS MOVIE is Rated R for Horror Violence and Gore

If you’re old enough to remember Hanna-Barbera’s variety show The Banana Splits Adventure Hour, well, you’re older than I am! Still, like many shows of the late 1960s and early 1970s, there’s something about it that makes it perfect for a horror movie redux–and that’s exactly what the folks at Warner Bros. Entertainment and Syfy are doing!

Check out the trailer for The Banana Splits Movie embedded at the top of the article; the movie is Rated R for horror violence and gore. The Banana Splits Movie is going straight to Digital and DVD (release date TBA) followed by an airing on Syfy.

Synopsis:
A boy named Harley and his family (brother Austin, mother Beth, and father Mitch) attend a taping of The Banana Splits TV show, which is supposed to be a fun-filled birthday for young Harley and business as usual for Rebecca, the producer of the series. But things take an unexpected turn — and the body count quickly rises. Can Harley, his mom, and their new pals safely escape?

The Banana Splits Movie stars Dani Kind, Finlay Wojtak-Hissong, Romeo Carere, Steve Lund, and Sara Canning. It’s directed by Danishka Esterhazy (Level 16) from a screenplay co-scribed by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas.
