All 17 Titans in GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS Identified

10/15/2020 UPDATE: You can now zipline into the baddest of the Kaiju’s mouth! Check out this clip of people ziplining into Godzilla’s mouth at an amusement park in Japan.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: A trailer released during in the lead-up to Godzilla: King of the Monsters‘ release teased 17 Titans (“and counting”) in various states of containment around the world. Now that King of the Monsters is in theaters, the Titans have been unleashed! And while some kaiju got much more time in the spotlight than others, all 17 did indeed make appearances.

Some of them were only briefly seen, and others merely alluded to in the in-credits footage, but all are accounted for. Keep reading for a list of who we met, and who we might meet again in future MonsterVerse movies.

Godzilla: Obviously, no surprise here.

Mothra: The “Queen of the Monsters” features prominently.

Rodan: Again, no surprise as the pterodactyl-like Titan has featured prominently in the film’s marketing.

King Ghidorah: AKA “Moster Zero”, Ghidorah and Godzilla battle for supremacy.

King Kong: We see the King of Skull Island in footage and in a cave painting.

MUTO 1, 2, and 3: We met MUTO 1 and MUTO 2 in 2014’s Godzilla, and both a seen briefly in footage. A 3rd MUTO is awakened by King Ghidorah.

Behemoth: AKA Titanus Behemoth is sort of a cross between a wooly mammoth and a gorilla.

Scylla: Scylla is a giant spider.

Methuselah: Methuselah is the “Mountain Titan” we’ve seen in the trailers.

The Titans below were never seen, but their names appeared on computer screens and in newspaper headlines:

  • Mokele-Mbembe
  • Baphomet
  • Tiamat
  • Typhoon
  • Abaddon
  • Leviathan
  • Sargon
  • Bunyip

Which of these Titans will be making appearances in 2020’s Godzilla vs King (or future MonsterVerse chapters) remains to be seen.

Synopsis:
Members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species thought to be mere myths-rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Directed by Trick ‘r Treat and Krampus‘ Michael Dougherty, who co-wrote the film with Zach Shields, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, and Zhang Ziyi.

This film has been rated PG-13 for sequences of monster action violence and destruction, and for some language.
