“The Earth is a fine place and worth fighting for.”
The quote above was immortalized by Ernest Hemingway, with no small amount of irony. When he spoke these words, the iconic master of American literature was in the throes of severe depression, having seen first hand many of the atrocities of war. Still, his spirit remained optimistic. It’s profound, actually.
This quote has also been utilized been the producers of DC’s Swamp Thing TV series in a new poster set that just hit the internet today. Check out all three new posters below.
Swamp Thing centers on CDC researcher Abby Arcane. When she returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.
The Swamp Thing TV series will be premiering exclusively on DC’s streaming platform beginning May 31st. The titular Swamp Thing is played by Derek Mears who stars with Virginia Madsen, Amber Barnes, Jennifer Beals, and Andy Bean (among others); Len Wiseman directs.
