TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL Sequel in the Works–But Probably Won’t Be a Movie

Rumors of a sequel to 2010’s smash horror comedy Tucker and Dale vs Evil have been swirling for close to a decade now; but despite having a cult following and legions of fans, nothing has yet materialized. Still, there’s a reason to hold out hope for the continuation of the hysterical hillbilly saga.

Broke Horror Fan recently sat down with Tyler Labine, who played the titular Dale. Apparently, something is definitely in the works–it just might not be a feature film. Here’s what he told the site:

“We’re working on something right now. I wouldn’t call it a film sequel, but the story is not done being told. I can’t really tell you much, but we’re in development with a couple things right now. Things are looking pretty good. Alan [Tudyk, who played Tucker] and I are both still on board, along with [original director] Eli [Craig]. We’re just trying to line up a few pieces. It’s just a matter of timing. We’re going to get something to the fans, because that’s really the only reason we want to do it. No one’s getting rich off this thing. Alan and I have always been like, ‘Whatever we do has to be for the people that stuck with it and made it what it is.’ That’s all the fans. Hopefully something will come to fruition.”

Hopefully indeed!

So what does it mean? A comic book or graphic novel? A cable TV show? A web series? Time will tell!

If you’ve never experienced Tucker and Dale vs Evil for yourself, or if it’s been a while, give the synopsis and trailer a spin below.

Synopsis:
Affable hillbillies Tucker and Dale are on vacation at their dilapidated mountain cabin when they are mistaken for murderers by a group of preppy college students.
