Slasher-Themed 9th Season of AMERICAN HORROR STORY is Titled 1984

The 9th Season of the anthology series launched by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk in 2001 will be titled American Horror Story: 1984. Though we don’t have a synopsis yet, 1984 seems to have duel meanings. The trailer shared by Murphy on Instagram this morning makes it clear this chapter will have a slasher theme, so it probably takes place during the “Golden Age” of horror movies. 1984 is also the title of George Orwell’s dystopian novel about a dictatorial government that spies on its citizens and distorts the truth to serve its agenda.

We know that Evan Peters will be sitting out Season 9 for the first time in the show’s history. The only confirmed cast members at this time are Emma Roberts and Olympic medalist Gus Kenworthy. American Horror Story has already been renewed through Season 10.
