Check Out the Short Film That Inspired the Feature Film POLAROID

Polaroid

Before he became the director of the Child’s Play reboot from MGM/Orion (arriving in theaters on June 21st), Lars Klevberg helmed the feature Polaroid, based on the short film he wrote, directed, and produced in Norway. Remember Polaroid? If not, that’s because The Weinstein Company’s disintegration has left the film gathering dust on a shelf somewhere.

It’s a damn shame, since the trailers looked decent: An antique camera with supernatural powers, a group of entitled, self-obsessed millennials getting their comeuppance, perhaps some subtext about the internet generation’s need to document everything—or a warning for would-be photobombers. If all of this sounds familiar, refresh your memory with the trailer and synopsis below.

While we might not see Klevberg’s Polaroid anytime soon (if ever) the short film it’s based on just recently hit the internet. Check it out below.

Synopsis:
High school loner Bird Fitcher finds a vintage Polaroid camera that holds dark and mysterious secrets. She soon realizes that those who get their picture taken by it meet a tragic and untimely death.

What do you think of Lars Klevberg’s short film Polaroid? Are you disappointed we haven’t seen (and may never see) the feature film? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
