Gorgeous GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS Posters Celebrate Chinese New Year

We’re still a few months out from Legendary’s kaiju sequel Godzilla: King of the Monsters hitting theaters but that doesn’t mean that the marketing machine isn’t rolling hard. We’ve already received two (unbelievably gorgeous) trailers and viral tweets are making people dig furiously for any hint as to what’s to come. Speaking personally, I’m beyond excited and I can’t wait to see the film!

Today marks the Chinese New Year, which this year is the Year of the Pig. While there aren’t any specifically pig-like creatures in the Godzilla universe, that isn’t stopping Legendary Pictures from wanting to celebrate the event themselves, which they’ve done by releasing a collection of four beautiful posters that can be seen below.

The posters are as colorful as the trailers are suggesting the film will be. Each character has their own color theme: Mothra being bright blue, Ghidorah a wonderful gold, Rodan showing off blood red, and Godzilla a mix of blue and purple.

These posters were originally posted by MTime.com.

Members of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species thought to be mere myths-rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”

Directed by Trick ‘r Treat and Krampus’ Michael Dougherty, who co-wrote the film with Zach Shields, Godzilla: King of the Monsters stars Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, and Zhang Ziyi.

This film has been rated PG-13 for sequences of monster action violence and destruction, and for some language. Look for Godzilla: King of the Monsters to demolish US box offices beginning May 31st.
