Michael Myers is back in all of his original glory in Blumhouse’s Halloween, now slashing through theaters nationwide, but it wasn’t always this way. In fact, it can be argued that, until 2018’s reboot, “The Shape” became progressively less scary after each sequel (with the possible exception of Rob Zombie’s reimaginings).
It didn’t just happen to Myers; with just about any villain who becomes serialized, there’s a “jump the shark” moment that permanently takes these icons down a peg. In a recent video, the folks at WhatCulture attempt to pinpoint the exact moments certain slashers went from being cool to drool.
