Anya Taylor-Joy Says M. Night Shyamalan’s GLASS Is “Making Cinematic History”

Yesterday, we brought you excerpts from Anya Taylor-Joy’s interview with the folks at Collider where she discussed the postponement and reshoots for Josh Boone’s The New Mutants; the film was originally slated for release last April before getting a 19-month postponement until August 2nd, 2019.

But The New Mutants isn’t the only movie Taylor-Joy’s got coming down the pike. She’s also got a major role in M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, the surprise sequel to both 2000’s Unbreakable and 2016’s Split. She also spoke about that project with Collider and, believe me, her enthusiasm is infectious!
“With Split, there was a giant sense of adventure and discovery. We were making something different, and it was weird and everything was so intense. There was a real sense of adventure with Split, whilst with Glass, it felt so epic. Every single day, everyone was so happy to be there because we were aware that we were making cinematic history. That’s a big deal. And then, you see Sam[uel L. Jackson] in his costume. I’m a true fangirl, so I was just like, ‘Oh, my god, that’s Elijah Price! That’s crazy! And I’m in a scene with him. That’s nuts!’ I think we were all just so excited to be a part of it, and all very grateful to be a part of something so monumental.”

Synopsis:
M. Night Shyamalan brings together the narratives of two of his standout originals—2000’s Unbreakable, from Touchstone, and 2016’s Split, from Universal—in one explosive, all-new comic-book thriller: Glass. From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast. Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.
