While I wasn’t impressed with Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters, I did love the epic ending that promised a truly massive and devastatingly powerful Godzilla, one that was resurfaced out of a freakin’ mountain! So while I’m going to watch the sequel skeptically, I’m very much going into Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle with an open mind. As it turns out, I won’t have to wait all that long as it’s been confirmed that the film will be hitting Netflix on July 18, which means we only have to wait… ::checks watch:: …less than two weeks!

Directors Kōbun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita, and screenwriter Gen Urobuchi are all returning from the last film, whilst Mamoru Miyano will reprise his role as Sakaki. Other cast members will include Takahiro Sakurai, Kana Hanazawa, Tomokazu Sugita, Yuki Kaji, and Junichi Suwabe. The film opened in Japanese cinemas in mid-May.
