Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights Makes Event History By Adding 10th Haunted House

The nation’s best Halloween event, Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights, is now open at Universal Orlando Resort, with more nights than ever before. This year, you won’t stand a chance as your nightmares come to life in nine disturbingly-real haunted houses based on some of the most terrifying legends in pop culture, including FX’s "American Horror Story," AMC’s "The Walking Dead,” and critically acclaimed films “The Exorcist,” “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre,” “Halloween II” and “Krampus.” Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 26 takes place select nights now until Oct. 31, 2016. There are many ways to celebrate Halloween. For some, it’s staying in with a bowl of popcorn and watching scary movies while handing out treats to costumed children. For others, it can be heading out into town for a night of revelry and festivities. And for others still, the Halloween season is all about haunts, events, and immersing oneself in all things terrifying. For that last group, Universal Studios promises to bring the goods with Halloween Horror Nights, a time when they reskin their parks and open Pandora’s Box to turn their locations into settings of horror for any who dare enter.

This year, Universal Orlando is making history as they have just announced that they will be host to a 10th haunted house, as-yet-unnamed, which marks the first time in the event’s 28-year history that 10 haunted houses will be featured.

For 34 select nights from September 14 – November 3, horrors of the ‘80s will invade this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Cinematic greats, slasher films, cult classics and original nightmares inspired by the past will come to life as guests face 10 disturbingly real haunted houses based on the most terrifying names in pop culture – including Netflix’s sci-fi thriller Stranger Things and Legendary Pictures’ Halloween classic Trick ‘r Treat – and five sinister scare zones.

Universal also revealed some of the scare zones guests will encounter at Halloween Horror Nights 2018. As they venture through the park, they’ll be stalked by ravenous punk, material girl and metal head vampires in Vamp 85: New Year’s Eve, come face-to-face with beings of rotted pumpkins and fetid vines who are seeking out human sacrifices in Twisted Tradition, fall victim to foul and decrepit creatures in The Harvest and more. Plus, Academy of Villains will return with an all-new high energy performance.

Tickets and packages are already on sale, so head to their website to plan your Halloween!
