Aja and Raimi’s CRAWL Casts Its Lead Heroine

A few weeks back we let you guys know that director Alex Aja (High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes) was joining forces with producer Sam Raimi (The Evil Dead) for a new horror film, Crawl.
And today we have word via THR that the film has found its star with actress Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner). She will play a young woman who, while struggling to save her father during a Category 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped inside a flooding house and fighting for her life against Florida’s most savage and feared predators.
Aja wrote the most recent draft of the script, which was initially penned as a spec by Shawn and Michael Rasmussen. Raimi is producing Paramount’s low-budget horror movie with Craig J. Flores (300: Rise of an Empire).
