The last word we brought you guys on MGM’s upcoming The Addams Family animated movie was when we let you know that the film had snagged a director with Sausage Party helmer Conrad Vernon stepping behind the virtual camera.

Today we have the awesome news via The Tracking Board that the perfect casting is under negations as Ex Machina-star Oscar Isaac is in negotiations to voice Gomez Addams.

Perfect f*cking casting, right?

Let’s just hope they get the voice cast for the rest of the family including Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Lurch and Uncle Fester just as spot-on. They’re on the right track!

How excited are you for MGM’s animated The Addams Family flick? Does the casting of Isaac make you more (or somehow less) excited? Let us know below!

The new animated film will be directed by Conrad Vernon (Sausage Party) from a screenplay by Pamela Pettler (Corpse Bride), with revisions by Matt Lieberman. Vernon will also produce alongside Gail Berman of The Jackal Group and Alex Schwartz.

Andrew Mittman and Kevin Miserocchi will serve as executive producers, and MGM executive Tabitha Shick is overseeing the project for the studio. Production is currently under way at Cinesite Studios in Vancouver.

We’ll let you know when we hear more but until then, check out the killer fan-made trailer for an imaginary Netflix series based on The Addams Family starring Issac and Eva Green. It’s a blast.
