Fright Channel Launching Tonight!
It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything official about the fledgling Fright Channel, but if their website is accurate, that should change very quickly.
Tonight, July 13th, the channel is set to launch on TimeWarner Cable’s Channel 99 in the following neighborhoods surrounding Los Angeles: West Hollywood, West Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, Sherman Oaks, and Eagle Rock. Their initial broadcast will be for two hours only — 10:00 pm to 12:00 midnight — but all big things must begin with baby steps. They will be showing George A. Romero’s classic Night of the Living Dead via a TFC exclusive digital transfer from an archival print.
As we first told you here, TFC’s efforts are spearheaded by long-time TV producer Rob Claridge. As veterans of the battle to get a horror channel — any horror channel! — on the airwaves, we wish TFC all the best with its launch and look forward to hearing more news from them in the coming weeks and months.
