E3 2011: Konami Unleashes Zombie Apocalypse 2

You know, normally an announcement like this would have us doing back-flips in fits of joy. There’s just one hitch … we remember Konami’s original Zombie Apocalypse all too well. Can the sequel get it right? Read on for the first screenshots and details.

If you recall, Zombie Apocalypse was a game that should have been good. There were tons of flesh-eaters and dozens of levels. So what went wrong? There were only seven different environments that repeated constantly. There was no story. There was no reason to play beyond five minutes before getting bored to tears.

So what’s in store for Zombie Apocalypse 2?

Zombie Apocalypse 2 is rockin’ a few new features, including a new squad feature that lets you work together with your team (as opposed to against each other as you fight for the most points) and a new class system that lets you swap weapons with each other and distribute powers and energy to your comrades.
