Quentin Tarantino is apparently quietly putting together a cast and crew for his next film, which THR reports will be about the Charles Manson Family murders that occurred in 1969. Apparently, but not surprisingly, Tarantino’s adaptation will be a “unique take” on the true story. As usual, Tarantino will write and direct with Bob and Harvey Weinstein producing. Jennifer Lawrence and Brad Pitt have been approached with the story, says the site.

As is common with several of Tarantino’s films, there will be multiple story arcs. The site states that one will focus on Sharon Tate, the actress and wife of Roman Polanski, who was murdered along with four others on August 8th, 1969.

Tarantino’s last film was The Hateful Eight, which was released in late 2015. If this movie comes to fruition, it will be the first Tarantino film that is based on true events.
