We’re all about helping independent filmmakers on Dread Central and one of the best places to give them a hand is as they’re attending university to study the art of filmmaking! That’s why we want to give a shoutout to the Santa Fe University of Art and Design as they’re working on a dark zombie comedy called Final Cutz, which is currently raising funds on Indiegogo.

The film is being written and directed by Liam Lockhart, chairman of the Film School at SFUAD, and produced by Claudio Ruben. The crew is comprised of students within the film university, who will be working alongside professionals in the film industry.

I recognize that many indie filmmakers didn’t go to school or some sort of educational system where they learned all about the tips and tricks. I don’t discredit those people at all as I see the level of passion and joy they have plus they amount of work they put into creating one of their films is mind-boggling.

That being said, I do think that these students deserve a chance at making something potentially interesting. Let’s give them a chance, shall we?

Synopsis:
Final Cutz is a dark comedy/horror film about a zombie apocalypse that takes place at an art university in the Southwest. As a virus spreads across the campus infecting staff and students alike – a group of stalwart visionary young film-makers are all that stand between the marauding living-dead and the oblivious city of Santa Fe that lies just beyond the gates of the university.
