Exclusive Interview with Annabelle the Doll

Sure, we’ve had a battery of interviews in support of Annabelle: Creation (review). They feature the cast, the filmmakers, etc. But everyone seems to ignore the 400-pound gorilla in the room… Annabelle herself.
Recently we had a chance to sit down with her to discuss her newfound fame and fortune.
DC: Annabelle, thanks for taking the time to sit down for a quick chat. We know you’re super busy, and we appreciate the time. We’ve spoken a lot with the cast and the crew of your latest film, but surprisingly enough, no one really spoke about you. In fact, some would say (quietly of course) that you’re a bit of a diva. How do you respond to that?
DC: Oh, come now. No need for tears. Let’s go back to the beginning… how long have you been haunting/acting for?
DC: Wow! So young! So full of hope and hatred! Look at those cheeks! Adorable! So, tell us. You have a bit of an infamous past rife with murder. Why did you do it?
DC: That song was about you? We can’t blame you for breaking up with Durst, what with his strange cookie fetish. Seriously, that dude could probably drive anyone to murder. Are you currently seeing anyone?
DC: That’s RIGHT! You guys still together? How is Marlon?
DC: Yeah, I’m sure he’s a bit of a handful. What’s that? Really? Well, I guess it is true what they say! *blush* So recently, like most celebrities, you’ve had your phone hacked and some really risqué images of you made it to sites like PornHub and YouPorn. Are you in any way ashamed?
DC: Marlon was really freaked out.
DC: Good for you! I never really got everyone’s hang-up with the human body. Speaking of hang, di…
DC: Ha! Who knew you had such a sense of humor!?! Since the phone hacking you’ve become an unlikely candidate for leader in the war against body shaming. Lots of women from all walks of life have been emulating you. How does that make you feel?
DC: Wow, those are incredible. For those out there wondering how you maintain your good looks, how often do you need to be restained/repainted?
DC: So just once every movie. Very cool! That should leave you with plenty of time to do what you want! Speaking of time, ours is up! Thank you again for everything! See you on the big screen August 11, and stay spooky!

She’s back! From New Line Cinema comes “Annabelle: Creation,” with David F. Sandberg (“Lights Out”) helming the follow-up to 2014’s hugely successful “Annabelle,” which scared up nearly $257 million at the worldwide box office during its run in theaters. The new film is once again being produced by Peter Safran and James Wan, who previously partnered on “The Conjuring” hit movies.
In “Annabelle: Creation,” several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a doll maker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home. They soon become the target of the doll maker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
Sandberg directs from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman, who also wrote “Annabelle.” The film stars Stephanie Sigman (“Spectre”), Talitha Bateman (“The 5th Wave”), Lulu Wilson (“Ouija 2,” “Deliver Us from Evil”), Philippa Coulthard (“After the Dark”), Grace Fulton (“Badland”), Lou Lou Safran (“The Choice”), Samara Lee (“Foxcatcher,” “The Last Witch Hunter”), and Tayler Buck in her feature film debut, with Anthony LaPaglia (TV’s “Without a Trace”) and Miranda Otto (Showtime’s “Homeland,” “The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy).
Serving as executive producers on “Annabelle: Creation” are Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, Dave Neustadter and Hans Ritter.
Collaborating with Sandberg behind-the-scenes from his “Lights Out” team are production designer Jennifer Spence, editor Michel Aller and composer Benjamin Wallfisch, joined by director of photography Maxime Alexandre (“The Other Side of the Door”) and costume designer Leah Butler (“Paranormal Activity 3 & 4”).
New Line Cinema presents, an Atomic Monster/Safran Company production, “Annabelle: Creation.” Slated for release August 11, 2017, the film will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
“Annabelle: Creation” has been rated R by the MPAA for horror violence and terror.
